It takes a lot of work to run a theatre company.  We couldn’t do it without the following people:

PeaSea Photography

Curious who takes all of our kickass show photos?  It’s PeaSea Photography.  With their blend of theatricality and amazing skills, they are the perfect photographers for any occasion.  Make sure you check out their Facebook to book them for your event.

Center for Applied Theatre and Active Culture

Mentors. Inspiration. Artists.

To establish a forum for community engagement and educational outreach through collaboration with emerging and established artists and the creation, production and presentation of a diverse array of theatre, music, dance, and exhibitions that affirms the intrinsic value of all cultures and explores the transformative power of the arts for the greater Akron community. CATAC provides a home base for the research and performances of New World Performance Laboratory and nurture emerging local artists and those of international reputation creating new work and experimenting with new forms of expression.

First Grace United Church of Christ & First Grace Arts Program

For a group like ours that, more or less, has a laissez faire attitude towards organized religions, this is the coolest church in Akron.  Aside from allowing us to use their space, they have a growing arts program, are opening and affirming to people from all walks of life, have some of the most active community outreach programs in the city and boasts the world’s oldest AA meeting.  This is one church that does more than talk about Christianity.

Weathervane Playhouse

Weathervane is the largest community theatre in Akron.  (Possibly all of Northeast Ohio.)  It’s the place where our Artistic Director got his start.  (Shoutout to Jan Harcar!)  Anyone interested in theatre can volunteer at the playhouse and get the opportunity to work alongside professional directors. Weathervane also has one of the top educational programs in the state, with much of their curriculum meeting state academic content standards.  If you want to perform, work backstage or take classes and don’t know where to start, we reccomend checking out the Weathervane website for more information.

The University of Akron & UA’s Dance, Theatre and Arts Administration Program

Many of our company members have attended The University of Akron.

Maid Myriad

Quite frankly, we don’t know where we’d be without Maid Myriad.  They are our best friends and biggest supporters.  Simply put, they’re great and, if possible, even better musicians.  If you like our work, you’ll definitely like theirs.  Plus, you can download their music for free.

Via Lotus

This could read exactly the same as what we said for Maid Myriad.  Except Tasha may be cooler than the Klemms, Gavin and A. Pop combined.  Check out Via Lotus on Facebook.

SITI Company

Probably the most badass group of performers.  Ever.  The SITI Company works internationally, train extensively and work collectively.  Their repertoire is filled with original plays and reworked classics.  If they’re ever in, near, or even 8 hours away from your city, you should make sure to check out a performance.

Battered Women’s Shelter & Rape Crisis Center

So far, these blurbs have been somewhat flippant.  (Just like us.)  However, the Battered Women’s Shelter and Rape Crisis Center is no joke.  If you or anyone you know needs help, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE contact the crisis hotline by calling 1.888.395.4357

DigitalLit Blog

In need of a book recommendation?  The DigitalLit Blog is the place to find out what’s hot.  Or, at the very least, find out what’s worth reading.  Updated with a chilling frequency by our friend April Helms, the posts are almost as good as the books she writes about.

The Market Path

The Market Path is a mission and ministry of First Grace United Church of Christ in Akron, Ohio. Eager to be a unique, welcoming presence in the Highland Square community, The Market Path has provided a place to promote social justice, honesty and integrity in the local retail market.  They are committed to offering fairly traded quality products, handmade by world and local artisans and local farmers.
